There was a brilliant turn out on Saturday night (November 8th) for the Ireland Vs South Africa match family evening in support of Cancer Focus Northern Ireland.
The Mini Rugby event was attended by around 250 people, ranging from young children to some of our (very much!) older club supporters and coaches.
The atmosphere was fantastic with a packed house to watch the match on the big screen in the clubhouse.
The Ballyclare fans were delighted to see Ireland claiming their first win over South Africa in five years at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium. Ballyclare mini rugby even played a part in the win over South Africa – there were photos of two of the boys who attended the Aviva National mini rugby blitz in the official programme.
Meanwhile, the children made great use of the Kids’ Zone where there were lots of games and a Wii for them to play.
Gourmet burgers and hotdogs were prepared by some of the Mini Rugby coaches for a tasty half time bite to eat for the adults and children.
Everyone who attended was also offered a South African wine, beer or soft drink for the kids.
A fun game of reverse bingo and live music followed the match.
It was a very successful night involving lots of chat, fun for the kids and a great match.
A special thanks to Niall Lamont, Iain Luke, Wendy Gallagher & team for organising the night and ensuring that everything ran so smoothly.
